Hybridization between fire and yellow belied toads

Hybridizing species are in favour with biologists, because they allow us to take a look into the process of ongoing speciation. The study object of my master’s thesis was a Bombina hybrid zone lying southwards of České Budějovice. The aims of my study were the relations between genetical structure of populations inside the hybrid zone and their ecological demands. There are considerable differents in ecology of both parental species (Bombina bombina and B. variegata), which maintains in forming of the hybrid zone. The text of the thesis will be provided soon.
